Joshi Puroresu | A Brutal Journey: ‘Sekai de Ichiban Tsuyoku Naritai’ Review: Finding the Soul in the Ring. #Brutality #Triumphant- 2026

Stardom Joshi | The “Beautiful Brutality” of Women’s Wrestling in Japan. From 2016 to 2026.
Stardom Joshi wasn’t trying to imitate Western wrestling—it existed on its own terms, rooted in Japanese values of perseverance, respect, and self-mastery. What struck me most was how these wrestlers carry themselves. They are not presented as novelties or gimmicks. They are athletes, artists, and storytellers. Their bodies are not just tools of impact, but instruments of expression. Pain is acknowledged, not hidden. Loss is not erased, but transformed into resolve. Victory is earned, never granted. It deepened my appreciation for Japan itself.
